Angela May Rippon CBE is a well-known television journalist, newsreader, writer, and presenter from England. Rippon was born on October 12, 1944. Rippon was a regular presenter on radio and television news programs in South West England before moving on to BBC One’s Nine O’Clock News in 1975.
Prior to that, he worked in the region of South West England. She was the second female news presenter on British television after Barbara Mandell, who presented the Independent Television News (ITN) in 1955.
She was the first female journalist to permanently present the BBC national television news, and she was the second female news presenter on British television. Rippon is the author of fourteen novels, has performed in a touring production of Anything Goes, and has hosted a section on The One Show, which airs on BBC One.
