Andrew Christian Wiggins (born February 23, 1995) is a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association for the Golden State Warriors (NBA).
After one year of collegiate basketball with the Kansas Jayhawks, he was taken first overall in the 2014 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Wiggins grew up in Canada before moving to the United States for his senior year of high school, where he was selected a McDonald’s All-American.
He was a second-team consensus All-American at Kansas before becoming only the second Canadian to be chosen first overall in an NBA draft. Wiggins was named NBA Rookie of the Year for the 2014–15 season after being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves during the preseason.
In 2020, he was traded to Golden State after five and a half seasons with Minnesota. When he was designated a Western Conference starter in 2022, Wiggins was selected to his first NBA All-Star game. He has also represented Canada at the international level.

In 2017, Wiggins agreed to a five-year, $147.7 million contract with the Timberwolves, which will keep him with the team until the 2022-23 season.
The Warriors are paying Wiggins $31.6 million this season. The Warriors will pay Wiggins $33.6 million next season, in 2022-23.
