Alexandra Valeria Botez was born on September 24, 1995, in Dallas, Texas, the United States of America. He is 26 years old as of 2022.

Alexandra Botez’s parents fled the Socialist Republic of Romania before she was born. Her family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where she was raised. She has a sibling named Andrea Cecilia Cristina Botez.

Alexandra Botez entered the world of chess after her father introduced her and began training her when she was six years old. She subsequently became a part of the Romanian Community Centre chess club, Golden Knights.

When she was 8 years old, Alexandra Botezwon her first Canadian children’s national championship in 2004. She played for the National Canadian Team in 2010. She subsequently won the U.S. Girls Nationals at the age of fifteen.

On two separate occasions, Alexandra Botez represented the state of Oregon in the SPF Girls’ Invitational. She achieved the Woman FIDE Master title norm in 2013. As a chess commentator, Alexandra covered the 2018 and 2019 PRO Chess League Finals.

Alexandra Botez has made it into the top 10 Canadian female players. While a junior student at Stanford University, she began streaming chess content on Twitch in 2016. She and her sister were hosts of the BotezLive Twitch and YouTube channels.

Alexandra Botez’s Twitch channel, BotezLive has garnered around 1.1 million, while her YouTube Channel, BotezLive has around 835K along with total views of    159,751,812.  Alexandra and her sister later signed with the Texas-based esports organization Envy Gaming, in December 2020.
