Keith Morrison is a Canadian television journalist who was born on July 2, 1947. He has been a Dateline NBC correspondent since 1995. Morrison began his career as a reporter and anchor at local stations in Saskatchewan, Vancouver, British Columbia, and Toronto, Ontario, in the 1960s.
He began his career as a newsreader for CTV’s Canada AM in 1973, and went on to work as a reporter, weekend anchor, and producer. He won accolades as a CTV reporter for his coverage of the Yom Kippur War.
From 1975 to 1976, he worked as a reporter for CTV National News, and from 1976 to 1979, he was the show’s National Affairs Correspondent and substitute anchor.
Morrison’s appearances on Dateline drew a large audience and attracted the attention of comedians. On November 22, 2008, Saturday Night Live created a sketch featuring him as the major character, played by Bill Hader.
Morrison also appeared as himself on a July 9, 2014 edition of Late Night with Seth Meyers, parodying his distinctive dramatic delivery of real-life murder investigations that he is known for on Dateline.
