Derrick White (born July 2, 1994) is a professional basketball player for the National Basketball Association’s Boston Celtics (NBA). He played Division II basketball at the Colorado–Colorado Springs Mountain Lions for three years before moving to the Division I Colorado Buffaloes for his senior year.
White was dealt to the Boston Celtics on February 10, 2022 in exchange for Josh Richardson, Romeo Langford, a 2022 first-round selection, and the right to swap 2028 first-round selections.
The following day, White played his debut game with the Celtics and finished with 15 points, six rebounds, and two assists.White scored 22 points on 7-for-14 shooting and added 5 assists and 3 steals in a 111–103 loss to the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals in May 2022.
The Celtics would ultimately eliminate the Heat, granting White his first berth in the NBA Finals. In Game 1 of the Finals, he scored 21 points and dished out three assists as his team defeated the Golden State Warriors 120–108.
